Our documentary production

Produced/Directed by: Hamid Khairoldin and Majid khabazan

In this documentary we have gathered some of the most well-established Iranian female directors and actors as well as scholars and film critics from Britain to unveil the reasons behind this phenomena.
In this 58-minute documentary, women directors and actresses will speak about their incentives and motives for making their films. The main shootings have been set in London and Tehran. In this film, women directors such as Rakhshan Bani Etemad, Tahmineh Milani, Shirin Neshat, and new comers such as Fatemeh Motamed Aria, Niki Karimi and Samira Makhmalbaf are presented.

In addition to that, we have interviewed film
critics and scholars; Laura Mulvey, Sheila Whitaker and Rose Issa in London.

Apart from the clips from these directors, some behind the scenes footage have also been put in the film. In a few cases the camera follows their daily lives in Iran. We have also covered the period that Tahmineh Milani was arrested on September 2001 in Tehran.  More interviews and street scenes have been shot including the cinemas that were screening her controversial film “The Hidden Half” at that time.
